She believes in the importance of continuity of care, supporting her patients through the critical transitions of childhood, adolescence, and the college years. Her goal is to ensure that every family feels supported, and every child is seen as a unique individual.
Professional Journey
Bringing over 20 years of heartfelt dedication and clinical leadership to the practice, Dr. Richards is a highly experienced pediatrician and retired Army Colonel. She was educated at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed her residency at Madigan Army Medical Center. She holds Board Certification from the American Board of Pediatrics and serves in academic roles as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington and Assistant Professor at the Uniformed Services University.

Whether managing routine wellness or chronic conditions, she prioritizes advocacy and clear communication. Dr. Richards has a deep-seated passion for caring for children with complex special needs. This commitment is rooted in her professional experience navigating intricate medical challenges as the Medical Director for the Exceptional Family Member Program and the Wounded Warriors, as well as her personal journey. Having raised a child born as a 29-week preemie with complex care needs, she offers families a unique level of empathy and understanding.
Beyond the Clinic
Dr. Richards believes that a healthy life is a balanced one. Outside the clinic, she stays active in the community as a volunteer dance fitness instructor at the YMCA and volunteers for camps supporting children with life-altering medical conditions. She enjoys traveling, fishing, camping, gardening, and crafting. As a passionate cook and a wine consultant, she loves to pair delicious food with the perfect wine. Most importantly, she cherishes quality time with her family.
